What Nursery Insurance Cover is Available?

Making sure you, your staff, the children in your care and your Nursery are protected and covered is our main job when it comes to providing you with Nursery Insurance.

Due to this we have secured facilities with the UK's leading Nursery Insurance providers and have access to policies that can provide you with cover for:

Contents and personal effects

As well as your nurseries contents, the policies available from NCi Nursery can also provide personal effects cover whilst in the nursery for you, your employees and the children in your nursery.

Business interruption

Business interruption or loss of revenue cover ensures your trading losses are covered following a damage claim under your nurseries property damage section. This means that you can be covered for 12 months, 24 months or even 36 months.

Liabilities

Employers’ liability covers your legal liability for accidents to or illness of employees sustained in the course of their employment with your nursery. And as required by law, you will be provided with a Certificate of Insurance which you should display prominently within your nursery.

Public and products liability is also available from NCi Nursery which covers your legal liability for accidental bodily injury to persons other than employees, or for damage to their property.

Additional cover available includes:

  • Legal expenses including statutory registration protection
  • Money with assault
  • Personal accident to nursery children
  • Buildings cover
  • Personal accident cover for you and your employees
  • Loss of registration
  • Play equipment in the grounds
  • Hospital and dental expenses following assault

Out of school club cover

Your out of school or holiday clubs, either at the premises or elsewhere, can also be covered. Simply let a member of the NCi Nursery team know when you contact us and we’ll make sure you get the cover you need at the right price.

Free 24 hour help line

As an NCi Nursery policyholder you could benefit from free legal advice on any commercial legal problem relating to your nursery. You could also benefit from tax advice which provides advice on any tax matters affecting the business as well as counseling for your employees and their immediate family who live with them.

Nursery nurse professional risk

This covers the legal liability of the proprietor of your nursery for accidental injury or illness, incurred in connection with the provision of professional services of Nursery Nursing. This also covers a personal indemnity for nursery nurses acting in an individual capacity.

Our aim is to provide you with all the cover you and your Nursery needs whilst providing a first class service at hard to beat premiums. The comprehensive cover available from NCi Nursery combined with our expertise of the nursery and pre school insurance sector means for all your nursery insurance needs, NCi Nursery could be just who you are looking for.

What do parents look for in a Nursery?

Like with so many businesses having a USP (or unique selling proposition) for your Nursery could be the difference between getting parents to trust you with their children's care needs or not. Your USP could be that you've achieved a good OFSTED rating or it could be that you're local. And as with other industries, knowing, understanding and acting on the needs of your customers will give you an advantage over other Nurseries.

Here then are just a few things parents may look for when choosing a Nursery:

1. OFSTED registered. If you are make sure your registration certificate and current certificate of insurance are displayed together in a prominent position. This will give parents added peace of mind.

2. Are you a member of a professional organisation? Not only does being a member of organisations like the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) give you and your staff useful information but it also shows parents you are serious about their children's needs.

3. Nurseries that have received recognition. Has your Nursery gained any kitemarks of excellence? Perhaps Investors in People, Investors in Children or the NDNA's quality counts. If so make sure the parents of your children and the parents of children looking to use your Nursery know about it.

4. As well as insurance providers rewarding good health and safety parents will also be asking themselves a series of questions about your Nursery.

Questions like:

a. Do you have a clean and safe outside play area?

b. Is your Nursery welcoming? Is it bright, clean and well decorated?

c. Is the equipment in the Nursery safe and clean?

d. What food do you provide? How often are your menu's updated? Can you cater for special diets?

e. Do your current children look happy?

f. Likewise do your staff look happy, calm, confident and relaxed and are they dressed well?

g. What are your staff to children ratios?

h. How much will it cost me and what will I get for my money? Will I have to pay extra for meals, nappies etc?

By having answers to these questions readily available to parents there's every chance they will place their children with you and recommend you to other parents.

Testimonials
TOTALLY SATISFIED

“Upon opening my first children's nursery in April 2007 I turned to NCi Nursery on the phone and asked for help and assistance with the whole insurance package for my new venture. I was somewhat confused and really didn’t know where to start but I needn’t have worried!

NCi Nursery guided me through the forms, quotes and paperwork over the phone and made it all seem so much easier and less hassle. I have continued to speak to NCi Nursery over the last three years when changes have been made to my policy etc and have always been totally satisfied and impressed with the service I have received.

Many thanks for the ongoing help and support you always provide.”
